Post-GOE Plans

Now that I've completed (and more importantly SURVIVED) the General Ordination Exams (GOEs), I can turn to some leisurely exploits before classes resume the end of the month.  Yes, I count finalizing my resume' and OTM (Office of Transitional Ministry) profile among those leisurely things.  Really!  Diocesan Council is the end of the month, so this stuff needs to get done!

But I do have some fun books to read:
  • Ten Dumb Things Churches Do and How to Avoid Them ~ Philip Wiehe
  • Be Still and Know: A Study in the Life of Prayer ~ MIchael Ramsey
  • More Dumb Things Churches Do and Strategies for Avoiding Them ~ Philip Wiehe & Linda McFadden
  • The Christian Priest Today ~ Michael Ramsey
I'll also likely catch some movies too (like Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol; Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows; We Bought a Zoo; War Horse; The Descendants; The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo).  Thankfully, my Bishop offered a little money for post-GOE "rest and relaxation" (although he might expect I'd use that for food & drinks at 1823, the pub at my seminary - it IS where he last saw me!)

And, yes, I do have some work to do preparing for my Field Ed project to re-energize a Lay Pastoral Visiting Ministry.

But in the mean while, there's playoff football on TV, and ice cold beer in the fridge, so let's get this party started!
