Is J.K. Rowling A New Gospeler?

There's an interesting article in today's Washington Post on the Religion Page about religious imagery in the Harry Potter series.

Jeff Diamant wrote, "I also expect Harry's death (if it happens in 'Deathly Hallows' due out July 21) to show that his character's path is modeled on the Gospel accounts of Jesus, and, more significantly, that the link between him and wizardry-school headmaster Albus Dumbledore is patterned on the most essential relationship in the Christian Bible - that between Jesus the Son and God the Father."

I've not read one single Harry Potter book.  And while I'm not too crazy about gorging out on it like Diamant did, consuming six books (soon to be seven) and 3,362 pages (thus far) of the Potter saga, I may be missing something.  But then, I still haven't read all of the Narnia series either.  Does that make me a bad person?  I hope not.  Perhaps just under-informed.
