A Statement Game: A Dominant Victory!

Sunday, the Washington Redskins played their most complete game in 2+ NFL seasons.  So much for Detroit being the offensive juggernaut everyone thought they were.  That 34-3 'butt whupping' of the Lions was just what loyal 'Skins fans needed after the long bye week.  WOO HOO!  We're now 3-1!!

The signature play of this game came when Mike Sellers, the 6'4", 284 lbs. fullback of the Redskins, completes a 24-yard catch-and-run by bulldozing right over Detroit Lions safety Kenoy Kennedy.  Yes, Mr. Kennedy, we do have witnesses that claim they saw the truck that hit you.  The license number of the truck was #45!

My clever brother-in-law, Rod, offered this suggestion for a weekly answering machine phone message:

Hail to the Redskins,
they came to play right out of the gate!
But when the game was over,
they'd' left Detroit 'li-on' in state.
