The Anglican District of Virginia

It's the first time I've seen or heard this distinction associated with Virginia church that voted to disaffiliate from the Episcopal Church (ECUSA).

"The Anglican Distric of Virginia", the association of churches now under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA).  CANA is a branch of the world-wide Anglican Communion.

I found this in an article from the Bull Run Observer (dated 01/05/07) discussing the votes taken by Church of the Word, Gainesville and St. Paul's, Haymarket.

One other matter, besides the well publicized and contentious claims of buildings and property by parishes vs. The Diocese of Virginia, is that the clergy employed in these churches choosing to sever ties with the ECUSA must be transferred to a different branch of the Anglican Church, which also means the transfer of health care and pension benefits.

Hmmmmm, I wonder:  Is there an "Easy" button for that?
