It's the Boot, Not a Slipper

George Mason University heard the clock strike midnight at the end of their first round contest versus Notre Dame last night.  Instead of tripping out of a slipper to be found by the charming prince, Mason got the boot.  They're gone.  Out.  Done.  Finis.  The Patriots fell to the Irish 68-50.  All I can say is Folarin Campbell picked a bad day to have a bad day.  Will Thomas was the only GMU player in double figures with 25 points.  The box score tells no lie - there's no way they could win with that.  The Irish were too big and too strong for the Patriots.  So there's no second coming of Cinderella out of Fairfax, VA this year.  I really didn't expect Mason to beat Notre Dame, but I did expect them to put forth a better effort in the game.  Oh well.  It's Friday evening, and there's been several upsets today so the princess of this ball must be harking from a different court altogether.  #13 San Diego just knocked off #4 UConn in OT.

We had too many close-scoring games to be that good again.
