Bang Zoom Go The Fireworks!

As Dimtri Young is known to say: "What's not to love?'

Last night, the Washington Nationals christened their new stadium with a bottom-of-the-ninth, two out walk-off homer by "face of the franchise" Ryan Zimmerman.  The newest 'green' cathedral in Washington D.C. is Nationals Park and it had a wonderful opening.  I was there to witness it.  It is very cool!  And, yes, it was cold at the ballpark.  But the atmosphere was electric and the crowd was chummy.

This afternoon, the 'Nats went to Philadelphia to spoil the Phillies home opener.  After two lead changes and being tied in the top of the ninth, 6-6, Washington had a hit bridgade, sending nine men up to bat and consequently plating five more runs to win 11-6.  Listening to the boo-birds in the home crowd reminded me of one of my regular refrains about Philadelphia - "City of Brotherly Love, my a#@!"

The 'Nats have beaten two different N.L. East opponents, are 2-0, find themselves two games above .500, and remain undefeated!  Indeed, what's not to love?!
