Now they count.  Now I care.  After tonight's debacle, I really wish it didn't count, and I almost couldn't care less right now.

The final score (16-7) is nowhere near indicative of the defeat handed the Washington Redskins by the NY Giants.

Our defense got manhandled in the first half.  The offense stunk for almost the entire game.  The play calling - well, it was dreadful.

I expected Mrs. GCR to phone from heaven to say, "Wasn't that positively awful?!" (First uttered after the infamous Philly "body-bag game").

Things I can't defend: 1) defensive backs backpedaling beyond the yard down marker, conceding first downs; 2) wide receivers who don't run patterns beyond the yard marker to make first downs; 3) and poor clock management while leaving time-outs on the scoreboard.
Presently, this team is mediocre at best.  And Jim Zorn looked every bit the rookie "deer-caught-in-the-headlights" head coach that he is.

Depressed.  Discouraged.  Disheartened.  Sadly, it's going to be a L - O - N - G year.
