We Are Go, Flight!

We are T-minus 8 Days, 12 Hours, 25 Minutes and 30 seconds from lift-off of Endeavour's STS-127 mission to the International Space Station.  My friend B, his 6-year old son C, and I are heading to Cape Canaveral next week for the 2nd-to-last shuttle launch Saturday, June 13th at 7:17 a.m. EDT, weather permitting.  B wanted his son to have the opportunity to witness a shuttle launch in person, and this is the last planned flight for Endeavour.  Hotel rooms in the area can be at a premium during launch activities, but fortunately, we have reservations at a La Quinta in Cocoa Beach, and they offer a shuttle service to the launch viewing areas.  My friend B was blinded in a motorcycle accident last January, so I'm the lone designated driver.  We're praying for good traffic, lovely weather and a fun time.  I admit I'm a geeky kid when it comes to all things space.  I am very excited about this.  WOOT!
