A New Day - A New Beginning

This morning as I drove her to Metro to head off to a conference, Chrissie said, "Well, Mr. Crosby, today is the first day of the rest of your life".  So when I returned back home, it was important to start with some quiet time with God over a cup of coffee.  After finishing Morning Prayer, I found these in the back of the February/March/April 2007 edition of Forward Day By Day - they seemed very fitting for me as I embark on this new beginning in this new day:
Direct me, O Lord, in all my doings with your most gracious favor, and further me with your continual help; that in all my works, begun, continued, and ended in you, I may glorify your holy Name, and finally, by your mercy, obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ my Lord.  Amen.
                                   - Book of Common Prayer (adapted)

Show me your ways, O Lord,
   and teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
   for you are the God of my salvation;
   in you have I trusted all the day long.
Remember, O God, your compassion and love,
   for they are from everlasting.
Remember not the sins of my youth and my transgressions;
   remember me according to your love
   and for the sake of your goodness, O Lord.
Gracious and upright is the Lord;
   therefore he teaches sinners in his way.
He guides the humble in doing right
   and teaches his way to the lowly.
All the paths of the Lord are love and faithfulness
   to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
For your name's sake, O Lord,
   forgive my sin, for it is great.
Who are they who fear the Lord?
  he will teach them the way that they should choose.
                                                                   -  Psalm 25:3-11
