Tonight, the Washington Nationals throttled the New York Mets 13-4 at Shea Stadium.

With this victory, the Nats have now won 70 games (so far) this year!  By my count, that is 38 victories more than baseball's experts predicted.  (They were expected to lose 130 contests in the 162-game season).

Yesterday, the Nationals hurt the Philadelphia Phillies' post-season aspirations while leaving RFK in grand fashion.  Tonight, the Nats beat the N.L. East-leading Mets in their own park.  I have to admit I do love to hear New York fans boo their own team.
The Nationals continue to defy the MLB pre-season prognosticators.  HA!
