I'd Like To Take You Out To A Steak Dinner

Chrissie and I spent most of today moving furniture, reorganizing the house, and cleaning in preparation of my Dad's arrival Sunday night.  By all recollection, this will be the first time a parent of mine has stayed with us.  Usually when my folks would come, or later after Mom had died and my father came to visit, my sister would provide lodging at her house in Springfield.  That same house is where we lived beginning in 1966 after moving from Rhode Island back to Virginia as Dad assumed command of NavAir (Naval Air Systems Command) at the Pentagon.  Dad is staying with us a few days while he attends the Alumni Convocation at Virginia Theological Seminary.  His class (VTS '77) celebrates their 30-year Class Reunion.  Then he'll go spend a few days at Lyn's house before he returns home to New Hampshire.  It'll be very good to spend some time with him.

We worked hard today.  The house is clean and straightened up, the laundry is all done, folded and put away, and the new study upstairs in the second bedroom actually resembles what we hoped it might become.  We're almost ready for our visitor.  There still plenty yet to be sorted through and it will likely prompt more moving of furniture.  It was such a beautiful day we opened up the house, but if not for dinner out tonight, I would have not gone outside all day.  As we neared the completion of our day's work, I wanted to spare Chrissie from cooking dinner.  So I borrowed the pick-up line used by Leonardo DiCaprio's character in "Catch Me If You Can".  Thankfully, our reward was a very nice steak dinner at Shooter McGee's.  It was a good day.  Yummy too.

Shans, I am the youngest of three. My sister Lyn is seven (7) years older than me; my brother Deric is four years older than me. Yes, I'm the baby, just like you.
